Swarmed by freshmen and old students’ faces, the 9th of June marked the non-formal opening of the academic year 2014-2015 in three campuses.
The College Marching Band along with the CPC High Drum and Lyre Corps brightened the spirits of the Purisimians on the first day of classes. A chorus from the CPC Grand Chorale and a video presentation from the Sarayawan Dance Company filled the CPC Main lobby for the entertainment of the students.
The whole community began the academic year with the celebration of Holy Mass in all campuses including the newly-opened Calipayan Campus, the extension of the Grade School Department.
The Supreme Student Pastoral Council (SSPC) prepared a mini-program after the mass at the CPC Main Quadrangle, participated in by a few Student Pastoral Council (SPC) officers from other academic organizations.
Personalized CPC bags were given away to a few lucky Purisimians who participated in the trivia quiz given by the SSPC as an ice breaker.
‘First day of class’ as it was called, the Bursar’s Office and Deans’ offices however, were still trailed by a large number of late enrollees for the first semester. *Mary Therese Encina
